We're excited to offer our first Summer Class Intensives! Taught by SJLS Theatre Department’s Artistic Director Sarah Kramer, Music Director Angela D’Angelo, and Choreographer Cindy Powers, these 2-hour classes will provide young actors with an in-depth focus on acting, song & dance, and improvisation.
Performers can focus on one or more sessions based on their interest and schedule.
Choose 1, 2, or all 3 sessions!
*All students are invited to perform in our Variety Show on Friday, July 17 at 4:30pm.
SESSION 1 Mon-Fri, July 13-17, 2020 9:00-11:00am
Storytellers (1st - 4th):
Storytelling has been used since the beginning of human history as a way to connect us all. In this class, students will act out folktales and fables with the use of puppetry and musical instruments, all while improving their acting skills. Students will design their own puppet, discover how sound enhances a story, and learn a brief history of how humans have told stories for hundreds of years.
Acting 101 (5th - 9th):
From auditioning to the final performance, we will give our students the tools they need to successfully develop and perform a scene. Our professional actors will teach students how to have a successful audition while working on the who, where, why and how of character development, and then how to evolve their character for their final performance.
Tuition for Session 1 ($130) includes a $30 non-refundable material & website fee. If you need to cancel your registration before the due date of 6/26/20, we will refund you $100.
Early Bird Discount of $25 per performer ends 4/24/20.
If your child wants to attend more than one session (adding Session 2 and/or Session 3), there is a discount! $30 off the 2nd session and $60 off the 3rd session!
